This is the first assignment in charcoal that i completed in the spring class of 2012 the amount of charcoal i had on my hands was definitely more than what was on the paper.

St Philomena


For my Sister Philomena , a 16x20 painting of the Saint.
In oil . as of yet this painting is not finished, much of the detail work remains.

This piece is a continuing work on the seven layer technique . Although i have not followed the technique faithfully due lack of resouces and knowledge of how to use them, i have enjoyed the experiment using different layers . in this photo i am starting to apply a layer of colors over the black and white layer.
