St Philomena

For my Sister Philomena , a 16x20 painting of the Saint.
In oil . as of yet this painting is not finished, much of the detail work remains.

Oil Painting of Pope Benedict XVI

This piece is a continuing work on the seven layer technique . Although i have not followed the technique faithfully due lack of resouces and knowledge of how to use them, i have enjoyed the experiment using different layers . in this photo i am starting to apply a layer of colors over the black and white layer.

Portraits

I love painting People, perhaps because it is challenging to capture who they are on paper. It is something that i struggle with and have to work at. Here are my current water color works on portraits.

landscaped

i have made several attempts to paint landscapes, often ending with a blur of muddy colors . but once in a while i nab it

flowers

I like painting flowers ,but a large painting can become over run with the attempt to capture details

art trail

I have begun to invest time and energy into painting . Here is my Class final for the spring of 2011
