there was a monk named bernard who was a woodcarver. the abbot came to him and asked him to carve a statue of Christ for the feast of Christ the King. the monk because sad because he had only an old trunk of oak, and he wished he had a block of ebony wood. he slept dreaming of what he could do with a good peice of wood, while he slept an angel came and seeing the dust covered trunk he put his hand to carving it.
